Seminar on Leadership and Lutheran Identity in Bolivia

On February 8 and 9, 2019 the executive director of Global Mission, Rev. Rafael Malpica Padilla, visited the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Bolivia, in La Paz. At 4,200 meters high and on foot of Mount Illimani, the director of Global Mission led a seminar on " Church Leadership and Lutheran Identity", for IELB´s leaders in congregations, districts and the national office.
Rev. Malpica returned to Bolivia after many years of not being able to visit the Bolivian church, and was received with warm hospitality by IELB Pastor Rev. Emilio Aslla.


The participation of young women leaders in the seminary was notable, a clear indicator of the progress and transformations in the leadership of the church in Bolivia.

On February 7, Rev. Rafael visited the Lutheran School in El Alto, La Paz, a significant educational work of the IELB and more than 400 girls, boys and adolescents, receive education from the kindergarten to the high school level. The Lutheran College in El Alto, La Paz, is in the middle of the expansion of its services to the community. The school needs for cooperation and accompaniment for growing and evolution. Let´s pray God will continue to bless this educational service in which children living in poverty receives care, education and great opportunities for their lives. Prof. Rev. Maritza Castañeta is the school principal.
